The Game Developers’ Association of Australia is proud to announce the dates for Game Connect Asia Pacific 2016, Australia’s premier game developers conference, which will take place on 1-2 November 2016 during Melbourne International Games Week at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
This year’s conference theme is ‘The Shoulders of Giants’.
“The GCAP theme is important. It drives the narrative of the conference every year,” said Tony Reed, CEO of the Game Developers’ Association of Australia. “‘The Shoulders of Giants’ was inspired by the wonderful atmosphere of care and support the audience brought to GCAP last year, and also acknowledges that we are surrounded by inspiration. It could be family, friends, colleagues or even the works of a complete stranger, our giants are everywhere.”
GCAP is now in its 11th year, and is one of Australia’s longest-running game development conferences. With a focus on skills and professional development, the event’s success has mirrored the success of the Australian industry, and it has featured some of the industry’s most interesting and diverse talent. GCAP 2016 will feature a 2-day skills development conference, networking events and conclude with the Australian Game Developer Awards. Making a return will be the Student Showcase, an exhibition of some of Australia’s best student projects.
The GCAP 2016 Call for Speakers is now open. Submissions will be open until 21 July 2016, 5pm AEST. To submit a talk, fill in the form here:
