HotDogs HotGals (HDHG) is a unique restaurant strategy game with a different approach and unusual game-play to typical business strategy games. The basic plot of the game is for players to manage their own fast-food store in today’s US fast-food industry until their business dominates the country. HDHG has aspects of the typical restaurant management game but offers many unique strategies that players can incorporate. This can be summed up in four main categories: Beautiful franchise girls, clothing of the girls, legitimate or illegitimate tactics and mini-games.
The franchise girls are the life-blood of the players’ stores. There are 12 +1 (special case) girls that players can hire, all beautiful with different attributes, strengths and weaknesses. These franchise girls are not just simply a tool, but characters with different temperaments. Therefore, the players need to interact with these franchise girls in order to keep their stores running at their best whether it is giving them a raise, gifts, vacation or training. In HDHG players will be free to play to their own individual style, whether they wish to play more along the legitimate path raising and developing their business and dominating the competition with use of superior marketing techniques, or they may choose to employ more shady tactics.
Unlike other strategy games, HDHG eliminates the slow, drawn-out aspect of typical strategy games by incorporating plenty of action-packed mini-games and events into the management experience. Things like a customer slipping in the store, to the store being raided by a gang of robber, from the customers becoming sick from the food, to the players having to fly helicopters through the city to pick up lost food deliveries. The Player’s will be also be able to fight computer viruses through ‘Space Invader’ style mini-games, hammer rats from rat infestations in their stores, or fight the customers themselves. The player’s performance in these mini-games will have a direct effect on the player’s business.
